Why I’m Being Kind To Myself When It Comes To My Weekly Goals

Even though I set intentions every week, the first ones of the year always feel the most important, like I am setting the tone for how I will “perform” throughout the rest of the year.

I decided I didn’t want to put myself under that kind of pressure this year and I would use that first week to “dip my toe in”

I decided to treat the week as I would getting into a cold swimming pool, slow steps in before I fully submerge. So I kept my intentions nice and simple.

  • Increase daily step count.
  • Drink 2 litres a day.
  • Work on Clare H Writes.

So how did it go?

First, the Christmas cough decided to stick around for longer and slowly turned into a cold. Despite that, I managed to increase my average daily step count, albeit slightly, but it’s a slow step forward, pun intended.

Drinking 2 litres a day was a doddle, my throat has been as dry as the Sahara so I managed to chug at least 2 litres of water a day as well as several cups of earl grey and cans of Coke Zero for good measure.

And finally, I did manage to do a little work with my freelance business. I’m really excited to start properly promoting it so I made a plan of action for the following week and set aside dedicated time to work on it.

I created a newsletter for a company just before Christmas so I will be adding that to my portfolio of work and I want to schedule some social media posts. Feel free to help me out by sharing my Instagram page or website I am always grateful for the support.

What are your intentions for this week? ❤️
