5 Articles On Medium That Pulled Me Out Of My Funk This Week

True Crime articles will now be posted on Thursdays

I can’t tell you how good it is to be back reading articles on Medium. I honestly noticed a massive dip in my motivation without them.

I’ve read so many inspiring articles recently, that I currently have 50 saved on my list, but today I am going to share the 5 that pulled me out of my funk this week.

I’ll start with You Are Not Alone by Kristin Austin. For some time now, I’ve been trying to think of a way to capture how I am feeling. I’ve tried mood tracker apps but I find them to be quite limited, so when I read Kristin’s article, I was intrigued by the image at the top of the article. Graphics show what she was thinking and what she was feeling, as well as her mindset while writing.

Where do I get myself this? That is when I discovered 750 words. I’ll let you read the article for the full details.

“Suddenly, although I was travelling my scary treacherous life path, I was no longer alone. Big breath out.”

I also came across How To Accept and Embrace Change Positively in Work and Life by Dr Roopleen.

It’s always comforting to know that we are not alone in our fears and fear of change is quite common. This article not only talks about the fear of change but also provides the reader with details on why change is an important part of life, as well as some tips on how to learn to accept change.

“Most people oppose change when it comes from someone else”

A Stoic’s 9-Minute Micro Morning Routine For Guaranteed For Good Days by What Is Stoicism? Stood out to me like a beacon.

I have been wanting to sort my routine out, my mornings were becoming cluttered with so many things on my to-do list and this article provided me with some great solutions and they were so simple.

I’ve now made some changes to my routine and for the last two days, I have actually enjoyed my morning routine without panicking about what’s next on my list.

“I now take a gentler approach to the morning activities I do every single day.”

I had been finding it hard to get my focus back, I was getting easily distracted and finding excuses not to do the things I had planned to do, the things that would enhance my life. The procrastination was at epic levels.

Lucy’s article shares some fantastic tips on how to pull yourself out of this and take some action.

“Don’t wait for life because life is waiting for you!”

Finally, sometimes you just need a bit of straight talk and Erin Harrison did just that in the article Am I overwhelmed, or just lazy?

There have been a lot of days lately, where quite frankly, I could not be arsed and rather than even trying, I tell myself that I just need to rest, look after myself and be kinder to myself. Of course, this is sometimes the case but I do know that sometimes if I challenge that inner voice and push through, I end up feeling better.

“If a task is going to take roughly ten minutes or less, just. do. it. now. I must start investing more in myself, and I think this is a good place to start.”

Thank you all for the much-needed lift ♥️
