Nine Of The Best True Crime Podcasts

And I have listened to many!

I started writing this week’s True Crime Post and got myself lost down a rabbit hole. There is so much information about the case, that I want to make sure I capture all the information and do it justice.

So this week, I will share some of my favourite true crime podcasts with you all. If you love True Crime like me then these are the podcasts you absolutely must subscribe to.

Going West

Started in 2018 and presented by husband and wife, Heath & Daphne, who discuss different US-based disappearances, murders and unsolved cases each week. I love the way Heath & Daphne bounce off each other and The episodes flow really well.

Episodes are usually between 40 & 50 minutes long and are released every Tuesday & Friday and are available on all platforms.

Case File True Crime

This was the first true crime podcast I ever listened to and it’s still one of my favourites. It started in 2016. The host is anonymous, which I quite enjoy.

The show has solved and unsolved cases with episodes ranging between 1 and 2 hours. Episodes are released on 3 Sundays out of 4, with no episodes being released to the public, however, a bonus episode is released on Patreon.

At the time of writing, they are on a midyear break, however, there are plenty of episodes for you to listen to.

Seeing Red

Hosted by good friends Mark & Bethan, who take it in turns each week to discuss a true crime and their theories. I love that they give their honest opinions on each case yet still manage to give the story from all sides.

Episodes range from 30 minutes to an hour, covering a wide range of true crimes, including heists & scams and they are released on Wednesdays.

They Walk Among Us

This podcast was originally based on UK crimes but there are now two shows, one for UK true crimes and one for the US — They Walk Among America. Another husband & wife team, with Benjamin hosting the show and Rosanna, behind the scenes and they have also written a book.

Episodes are between 30 and 90 minutes long and are released on a Wednesday.

Evidence Locker True Crime

Hosted by Noel Vinson, this podcast talks about True Crime from all around the globe. I love the way this is narrated, it makes this podcast different from the others.

Episodes are around 30 minutes long and released every Sunday

Blood Ties

Hosted by father & daughter duo, Molly & Geoffrey Wansell, who have great chemistry. I enjoy their little catch-ups at the beginning of each episode where they discuss their week. Geoffrey is a writer and has worked for several well-known publications and has written many books, including a biography of Fred West.

Episodes are released on Mondays and are around 30 minutes long.

Trace Evidence

Focusing on unsolved cases, including missing persons and the unexplained. Host Steven Pacheco h takes you through each case in depth and shares his own thoughts and theories with listeners, as well as any other known theories. He also talks about the families and the effect the crimes have on them.

Episodes are around 60–90 minutes and are released on Fridays.

The True Crime Enthusiast

This started as a blog that writer Paul made into a podcast, which he hosts. I really enjoy his dry sense of humour and funny references to British culture. It’s focused on cases in the UK & Ireland with the focus being on the lesser known cases.

Episodes range from an hour to 90 minutes.

The Trail Went Cold

Hosted by Robin Warder, this podcast looks at unsolved mysteries and cold cases from various countries. Robin also gives us his thoughts and theories. Considering the topics covered, I find Robins voice very soothing.

Episodes are 40 to 50 minutes long and are released on Wednesdays.
